    KULIM: Pembinaan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kulim atau lebih dikenali sebagai KXP bukan lagi satu impian, sebaliknya bakal menjadi kenyataan setelah direstui Datuk Seri Najib Razak, kata Menteri Besar Kedah, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.

    Beliau berkata, perkara itu telah pun dibincangkannya dengan Perdana Menteri dalam beberapa pertemuan sebelum ini, dan Najib dilihat memberi reaksi positif berhubung perkara itu.

    “Prosedur awal berhubung projek tersebut telah pun disediakan secara profesional oleh sekumpulan pasukan yang diketuai Presiden Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC), Datuk Dr Annuar Mohd Saffar dari semasa ke semasa,” katanya selepas merasmikan majlis ulang tahun ke-20, Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) semalam.

    Menurutnya, apabila projek tersebut siap, penduduk-penduduk di kawasan seperti Perak Utara, Perlis dan Pulau Pinang bakal turut sama mendapat manfaat dari segi peluang pekerjaan serta perkembangan ekonomi.

    Ahmad Bashah berkata, pembinaan KXP itu juga dijangka mampu menarik lebih ramai pelabur asing dan jumlah pelaburan melalui kemudahan infrastrukur yang lengkap.

    “Pada tahun 2015, KHTP berjaya mencatat jumlah pelaburan RM39 bilion berbanding RM34 billion pada 2014. Jadi bila ada KXP kita yakin jumlah ini makin meningkat,” katanya.

    Pada majlis itu, Ahmad Bashah melahirkan kegembiraan atas sumbangan Pihak Berkuasa Pelaksanaan Koridor Utara (NCIA) yang membina sebuah kompleks sukan yang lengkap berharga RM12.3 juta bagi kemudahan tenaga kerja KHTP dan penduduk tempatan.

    Satu daripada kemudahan bersukan yang terdapat di kompleks iaitu adalah empat buah gelanggang futsal biasa yang boleh diubah suai menjadi dua gelanggang futsal bertaraf antarabangsa.
